Centar za napredne studije (CNS) i Komisija za slobodu vjere Rijaseta islamske zajednice u BiH Vas pozivaju na predavanje pod nazivom How to deal with Islamophobia – responding and reporting (Kako se nositi sa islamofobijom? -reagiranje i izvještavanje).
Predavanje će biti upriličeno u ponedjeljak 13. jula, sa početkom u 16 sati u Hotelu Art (ul. Vladislava Skarića 3).
Predavač je Marwan Muhammad, trenutno zaposlen kao OSCE-ov Savjetnik za borbu protiv netolerancije i diskriminacije muslimana u centralnom uredu u Varšavi, osoba koja posjeduje iskustvo borbe protiv islamofobije u Francuskoj. Predavanje će biti realizirano na engleskom jeziku.
Cilj ovog predavanja jeste predstavljanje metoda i mehanizama borbe protiv islamofobije počevši od pristupa ljudima pri pojašnjavanju samog pojma i pojave, do jačanja povjerenja u institucije kojima bi se ovakve i slične pojave trebale prijaviti na dalje postupanje.

Since 2014, Marwan Muhammad is the OSCE’s Advisor on Intolerance against Muslims, where he leads projects to improve the way islamophobia is addressed in the OSCE region. Marwan’s priority for 2015 include work with the Media, in order to improve the way Muslims are portrayed, as well as Muslim women’s access to
education and work. Marwan continually assists NGOs and Muslim communities across Europe, through training and capacity building activities.
From 2010 to 2014, he was a spokesman for the Collectif against Islamophobia in France, an organization which provides an observatory for hate crimes & discriminations, as well as legal and psychological support for victims. Marwan graduated in 2003 in Statistics and Applied Mathematics. After a career in the banking sector, he became an advisor on financial regulation, from 2007 to 2013. In parallel, he is also an author and the founder of StatX, an agency specialized in the use of Data Science and Statistics for social change.
